Dear Friends
Please join us for our picnic after the service on Sunday lunchtime
A little word
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect 1 Peter 3.15 (NIV)
Surprisingly to some, it is usually Paul who speaks about gentleness in the New Testament. He is often portrayed as a hard and uncompromising character. But his early church colleague, Peter, also talks of it. The inference is that our lives will be so different and attractive that we will get asked about it. And rather than ramming it down their throats (!) we will use gentleness to explain. The church has not always been good at this. Food for thought.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for those who with gentleness have encouraged us on our journey of faith.
- For the continuing trouble in Israel/Palestine. Above all for peacemakers.
- For all those recently ordained, settling into new parishes.
