Twice a month Christchurch Pitsmoor holds evening meals in the church where everyone is welcome.
International meal
On the first Thursday of every month we host the International Meal. This is for people seeking asylum and their friends, ASSIST volunteers and their friends, and others.
We start cooking at 5pm. Doors are open from 6.30 or a bit earlier. Food is served at about 7pm. With everyone’s help, we clear up by about 9pm. Main course ingredients are covered by donations, chosen and cooked by our volunteer chef with assistance from others. People are invited to bring other items to share too.
Sitting room
On the third Thursday of every month we host the Sitting Room. This is an evening meal open to all. The doors are open from 6.30pm and food is served at 7pm. The meal is usually jacket potatoes or something different depending on the volunteer chefs on the night.
Meals are free and no payment is expected.
If you’re interested in helping us host these meals or just want to come along for a warm space and hot meal you are welcome to just turn up, or you can contact us via the office.
