Weekly news for 20.4.25
Dear Friends,
Happy Easter! It was so lovely to celebrate with Bishop Pete last week and this week we celebrate again with our Easter services. It will be lovely to see you.
A little word
‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15.55-57 (NIV)
The victory of Jesus over death, his bursting from the tomb, were not just for him but for us all. And so these verses, often used at funeral services, reassure us that death is not final. We can experience Easter joy and hope in this life and after death. There is no fear for those who put their trust in the victory of Jesus. Alleluia, He is risen.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for all the hope that Easter brings.
- For our brothers and sisters across the globe celebrating our common faith and hope.
- For Jerusalem, Israel and Palestine. That the region might find hope and peace.
