Weekly news for 14.9.25

Dear friends,

We continue our focus on God’s creation, inspiring awe and wonder, and thinking about our use and misuse of this precious resource we call home.

A little word

For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Romans 8.19 (NIV)

As humanity, God has given us the wonderful task of stewarding all that He has made. We don’t always do it very well, but nature and creation have a remarkable ability to recover from the mess we create, given the chance. I love this verse in Romans. I think of it as all of Creation urging us on to become the people God called us to be, to live in harmony with planet and people, to treasure all that God has created.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for those who inspire us to be the best version of ourselves.
  • For our world leaders and nations, in a week where troubles seem to be escalating rather than receding.
  • For all the planning and invitations for our Community Week.

This Week’s Headlines

Christ Church Pitsmoor Community week

This is running from 4-12 October.

Mark it in your diaries, choose what to engage with, and think who you could invite to join in.

Care4Calais

People seeking asylum are often lacking everyday basics that we take for granted. Volunteers with Care4Calais meet at CCP every month to distribute essentials for people living in hostels. They also provide a friendly face and assistance.

As part of Pitsmoor Community Week (4-12 Oct) we are collecting toiletries to be given as gifts.

Please donate new, unopened shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser or soap.

There is a box at the back of the church and donations can also be received at the Harvest Cafe Church on 5th October.

Thank you for your generosity

A ‘Thank-you’ from Will & Lucy

Dear everyone at Christ church! Thank you so much for your lovely gifts, prayers and support as we step into this new season at Bradfield. We have felt truly loved and will miss you all greatly! With your financial gifts, we are going to get something for the house to take with us when we move into the Rectory at Bradfield. Please do stay in touch over the year, and hopefully, we will get to connect with you all at different points. A few of you have asked about my licensing and how you can support this. A formal licensing won’t be until my position is confirmed next year, and I can share the details of this when I know more. Please do stay in touch. My new email is willgowers@bradfieldchurch.org. Be assured of my prayers for you all, and please do continue to pray for us in this new season! Also, Sara sends her love. Blessings x
