Dear friends,
We are really excited to be able to host the photo exhibition. Do make a special effort to come and see it. And enjoy your extra hour in bed!
A little word
my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55.11 (NIV)
This Sunday is designated as Bible Sunday. The Bible is the worlds most published book. Available in approx. 800 languages for the complete bible, another 1800 languages for the New Testament and another 1400 with some portion of scripture. That’s 4000 languages that have at least part of the bible translated. We have the printing press largely because of the desire to produce bibles cheaply and accurately. It has been a major cultural force. Of course it is more than a book. Its power is not magical, but by recording God’s relationship and dealings with his people, it has inspired others to live by its light. It is the book of hope. I pray that we may all be open to being changed by God revealing himself to us, through it.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for all those who work to translate, distribute and explain the Bible.
- For schools, staff and families as they take a 1/2 term break.
- For the work of peacemakers. For all those who reflect and respond to what they encounter at our exhibition this week.
Sunday services in the Church
9.15am Gathering
Informal and relaxed space, often with a cuppa and discussion.
10.30am Holy Communion
Bible Sunday
Readings: Psalm 119.129-136 and Matthew 22. 34-40

7pm Reflective Service
This Sunday we’ll be practising a lovingkindness meditation together, as well as having some time for songs, prayers and quiet.
Lovingkindness meditation has been described as “exercising the compassion muscle” – helping us to learn to love God, love our neighbours, and love ourselves better.
