Dear friends,
Here is the news for this week. I’m really looking forward to sharing Easter with you on Sunday as my final service here at Christ Church.
A little word
So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3.1
My final service here is one dedicated to new life and fresh beginnings. It seems appropriate. The last eight years have certainly been eventful, but I’m glad I was here with you. Pitsmoor will always hold a special place in our hearts.
The resurrection restores and frees us. It gives us the power to live a new life, dedicated to loving him and loving one another. It is life in all its fullness.
Easter is the definitive transformational event in history, and we gather to celebrate it. Happy Easter.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the joyous news of Easter
- For all those who will lead Christ Church in its next phase as we go into vacancy
- For Pip and Ali as they say goodbye to Sheffield and move onto new beginnings

Annual Meeting preparations
The APCM is on 10 May after the morning service.
The Electoral Roll is open for revision. If you are not on it, you need to complete a form – these are at the back of church on the welcome desk as you come in the main door. Once completed, please put them into the box.
Please note the revision window closes on 19th April.
Elections. There are lots of opportunities to serve on the PCC this year (especially as the tasks will need to be spread during the upcoming vacancy), We need to elect 2x Churchwarden, 2x Deputy Churchwarden, 2x Deanery Synod reps, up to 8 PCC members (this is the three for this year plus 5 unfilled from previous years). Some of our existing PCC members whose terms are ending will be glad to continue but that will still leave gaps to fill. It seems a long way off, but don’t leave it to the last minute to see if people will be willing to stand.
The nomination forms will be available soon.
What’s on?
Thursday – Holy Communion at 10am followed by refreshments and Lunch Club. In the Welcome Centre.
