Dear friends,
Our Community week is upon us. I hope you enjoy coming along to events and bringing others.
A little word
May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. Genesis 28.3 (NIV)
This was a promise given to Isaac, son of Abraham. Promises were given to the Patriarchs about becoming a nation, a community. God’s people in the New Testament are seen not by physical descent but by faith. So we grow the community not just by having babies but welcoming people to join, to belong. As we celebrate our Community week, let us value the community in which we are placed, and grow our community as a place where all are welcome and can find a place of belonging.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for our community, parish and church.
- For the CofE and the person called to lead us as Archbishop of Canterbury.
- For the work of foodbanks and aid agencies.

This Week’s Headlines
Christ Church Pitsmoor Community week

This is running all week.
Mark it in your diaries, choose what to engage with, and think who you could invite to join in.
Care4Calais
People seeking asylum are often lacking everyday basics that we take for granted. Volunteers with Care4Calais meet at CCP every month to distribute essentials for people living in hostels. They also provide a friendly face and assistance.
As part of Pitsmoor Community Week (4-12 Oct) we are collecting toiletries to be given as gifts.
Please donate new, unopened shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser or soap.
There is a box at the back of the church and donations can also be received at the Harvest Cafe Church on 5th October.
Thank you for your generosity
How ethical is your energy supplier?
Last Sunday we thought about ways we could invest in Kingdom values with our purchases. Our energy bills have an effect on the climate too. If you want to investigate this further, Octopus are offering a £50 donation to the church if you move to them and you get a £50 credit too. Use the link below to get a quote. You will need to decide if this is right for you, and of course there are other providers offering carbon free/renewable tariffs. Pip is happy to talk if you want to know more.

Next Sunday – 12 Oct
Our 10.30 service is Songs of Praise. If you have a request let Pip know asap.
Following the service we’ll have a Bring & Share meal in the Welcome Centre.
