Dear friends,
Over the summer, as the pace changes, we will spend time with the Psalms on Sunday mornings.
A little word
Lord, teach us to pray Luke 11.1 (NRSV)
When the disciples saw Jesus praying they asked him to help them. Clearly they were inspired by him. Lots of us find praying hard. He gave them what we call the Lord’s Prayer as a model. That’s a great starting point. Prayer is being in the presence of God, and sharing our hearts with God, and aligning ourselves with his will and Kingdom. Sounds easy doesn’t it! The trick is not how we do it, it’s that we do it. And keep doing it.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the gift of prayer, a chance to share your heart with God.
- For the desperate situation in Gaza.
- For David Gerrard, announced as our new Archdeacon.
