Weekly news for 15.6.25

Dear Friends,

This week we kick off our series on Philippians. It should be good.

A little word

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice!  Philippians 4.4 (NIV)

Paul wrote this letter from prison! What has he got to rejoice about? This letter is an encouragement to be wholehearted followers of Jesus (disciples). Following the way of Jesus will not always be easy (it wasn’t for him), but knowing Jesus and hoping to live life following his example, will always put everything else into perspective. Life can be tough, but it cannot overcome the joy we receive as friends of Jesus. That deep rooted joy is something that cannot be taken from you.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for the joy we can experience as Jesus’ followers.
  • For those who find themselves in prison. For their families and victims. For the ministry of prison Chaplains.
  • For the interviews for our new Archdeacon taking place next week.
