Dear Friends,
This week we gather together to celebrate Pentecost.
A little word
those people who are led by God’s Spirit are his children. God’s Spirit doesn’t make us slaves who are afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our Father. God’s Spirit makes us sure that we are his children. Romans 8.14-16 (CEV)
Pentecost, the coming of God’s Spirit, is all about relationship. The Spirit is the bond between us as sons and daughters of the same heavenly father. It is that family likeness that we all share. The Spirit came and broke down barriers, and so we celebrate both our difference and our unity.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the bonds that bind us to brothers and sisters around the globe.
- For the wisdom and peace of the Holy Spirit to guide us daily.
- For our government and other agencies seeking to find answers to poverty in our communities.
