Weekly news for 22.10.23

Dear Friends

This Sunday we think about the gift of the Holy Spirit and what that means for us.

A little word

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Tim 1.7 (NIV)

Jesus promises his continued presence with his followers before his Ascension. There is much said in the New Testament about the work and empowering of the Holy Spirit. We need to welcome the leading and guidance of the Spirit, remembering that all we do through that leading is about pointing to Jesus and not about us.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for those times you feel Jesus’ presence with you through the Holy Spirit.
  • For peace in Israel and Palestine, for the voices of peacemakers to be heard.
  • All those taking a break for ½ term.
