Newsletter for 29th October

Dear Friends,

This Sunday we think about the gift of each other, our community in Christ. Don’t forget that the clocks go back. Enjoy your extra hour in bed!

A little word

you also, like living stones, are being built into a temple of the Spirit. 1 Peter 2.5 (NIV)

Followers of Jesus are variously described using a metaphor of a body, or like here, a building. One brick in isolation can’t do much, but lots of bricks together can create something, especially in the hands of a skilled architect and builder. Meeting with St Peter’s this week reminds us that we are part of something bigger, as will Bishop Pete’s visit to the deanery in early December. Working together locally and further afield, with each playing their part, helps to build and spread the Kingdom.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for each other, all different, all necessary, all needed, all loved.
  • For the deanery visits happening this Autumn.
  • For those who minister in prisons and with ex-offenders.
