Dear friends,
Here is the news for this week.
A little word
“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2.29-32 (NIV)
Monday is the Presentation. We remember when Mary & Joseph took Jesus to the temple and there they we met by Simeon and Anna. Anna is in her eighties, Simeon’s age is not revealed, but he is always thought of as an old man. The baby Jesus and a couple of oldies meet, and they see something of God’s promise. Light for everyone, Jew and non-Jew alike. May all of us, from the youngest to the oldest, see the light and walk in the light.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for those wonderful intergenerational moments we share.
- For those who work in nurseries and care homes.
- For those who work for the Diocese, supporting parishes in their mission and ministry.

Diocesan Safeguarding Audit
The Diocese takes safeguarding seriously and part of that is to invite an independent body to conduct an audit. Anyone can contribute to the surveys so that the auditors can get as full a picture as possible prior to their visit. We are committed to hearing the truth and changing in the light of that.
Details for both the surveys and for contacting the audit team are available through the INEQE website here: ineqe.com/churchofengland/sheffield. The surveys are now live and will close at 11.30pm on Wednesday 11 March 2026.
If you have difficulty accessing online and have something to offer talk to Nick or Pip so that we can help you.
What’s on?
