Dear Friends
A special thank you for those who have helped with our Churchyard tidy up and sorting out the Church & Welcome Centre ready for groups recommencing.
A little word
How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! Psalm 147.1
I really enjoy a good sing. There is something special about being surrounded and united in the act. It’s not even about how perfect it is. But this Psalm goes on to immediately remind us of the nature of the God to whom we sing. The Creative power of God and the transformative way he gathers and rescues and lifts up. We sing because of who God is, and as a reminder of what that call requires.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for experiences of true praise.
- For our Mission Area. St Peters, St Cuthberts, Wincobank & Brightside.
- For Chaplains in Education, Hospital, Prisons & Industry.

Ideas exchange
One of the things we thought about at our Harvest service was the knowledge/skills/ ideas/ stuff we can share to help each other over this next winter.
The end wall (in church) now has an image of a giant light bulb with post- its stuck to it, each with an idea like, get an electric blanket (cheapest way of staying warm apparently) written on.
Please do add to the ideas over the next weeks together with your name so people can ask you about it. It doesn’t have to be anything big: knowing how to draft – proof your home; to grow spinach in a tub; to fix clothes; to use the buses; to provide a reassuring smile; every little has the potential to help someone somewhere.
Five Marks feedback
Pick up the sheet from Church with the feedback from our recent meetings and join in the conversation.
Keeping up
The church building is back up and running. It will be at least another week or two before other groups are back in the Welcome Centre with a functioning lift.
If you are a keyholder, please check with Pip or Maureen before coming in. There have been some key and Alarm Code changes.
In church there are some compromises. Plastic chairs until we can order permanent replacements, and the organ clean will be a little while. We are just glad to be back!
