Weekly news for 7.12.25

Dear friends,

Here is the news for this week. It would be lovely to see you at the leaf clearing session on Saturday.

A little word

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15.13 (NIV)

Advent is a time of waiting, but how do we wait? with anxiety? with gloom? with boredom? St. Paul suggests with hope. We are not waiting with a passive thumb twiddling, we wait with hearts and heads full of hope, as we actively live out our faith in the God of Hope.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for those who inspire us with, and to, hope.
  • For those in the world who can see no hope, that they might catch a glimpse of the light of God.
  • For all those working in care homes. Our local doctors, and hospitals.
