Dear Friends,
Don’t forget our 10.30 service is at St. Peter’s this week.
A little word
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13.2 (NIV)
On Monday it is ‘Michael and All Angels’. The bible gives weird and wonderful descriptions of heavenly beings, but often angelic visitations are rather matter of fact. It is sometimes unclear who is there, Angel? man? messenger? It is often only afterwards that people realise that their encounter was with a messenger from God, an Angel. That’s why I like this verse from Hebrews. Who knows when the stranger may be a gift to us? I may have met an Angel once, someone suggested to me, I don’t know, perhaps it was. Anyway, I’m never going to sprout wings, but I might possibly be that messenger from God for someone else. Now that’s worth hoping for.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for times when others have made God’s voice clear for us.
- For the churches across our Deanery, seeking to be good news in their patch.
- For ASSIST and others supporting refugees and Asylum seekers.
