Dear Friends,
There are lots of things happening in the next few weeks, make a note of them in your diary now.
A little word
The earth belongs to the Lord. And so does everything in it. The world belongs to him. And so do all those who live in it. Psalm 24.1 (NIRV)
Maybe there are some things we would want to exclude from the world. Wasps and slugs are often mentioned! But they have a place in the eco-system, a part to play. Maybe, might I suggest, there are some people we want to exclude. Because they are annoying, or bad, or creepy or destructive? We do seem to put a value on others lives and it is not equal. Maybe it amounts to; people like me are valuable, others less so!
If we take this Psalm seriously then everything and everyone belongs to God. That must mean precious and valuable in God’s eyes. Who are we to value things differently?
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the unique, intrinsic value of every created thing.
- For the escalating situation with Israel and its neighbours.
- For all the final arrangements to settle before the work on the church starts.
