Dear Friends,
Good news of an additional grant and an upcoming celebration.
A little word
You have made (humankind) a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet. Psalm 8.5-6 (NIV)
I think it was Spiderman who said ‘with great power comes great responsibility’. The biblical creation story portrays humanity as the pinnacle of creation; the final flourish. Adam and Eve are given a special task of care. In this season we recognise our ability to mess up and misuse that place and lament of it. But we do not despair as we recognise too that with hope and integrity we can restore something of the balance that has been missed.
That all creation may live in harmony and bring honour and praise to the Creator.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for those who challenge us to live better, more harmonious, lives.
- For the communities recovering from violence and unrest.
- For all the activities restarting after a break over the summer.
