Weekly news for 5.3.23

Dear Friends

Here’s the update for the week.

A little word

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.       Gen 12.1

Lots of us want certainty in life. It feels comfortable to have a plan. Abram was asked to leave behind all that he knew and step out in faith with the destination known to God but not to him. We sometimes use the expression, faith journey, because it is an active and moving thing, not a settled thing. As we journey together through Lent (and life) may we be brave enough to trust God.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for the ability to trust God, not knowing where it may lead.
  • For our housebound and infirm members unable to join us in person.
  • For the continued effort to work towards net-zero in our church and as individuals.
