Weekly news for 12.3.23

Dear Friends

Here’s the update for the week.

A little word

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.       Rom 7.15

We’ve been thinking a lot about sin this week. The verse above is how St Paul describes this inner struggle with the marred image that all of us carry. Structural sin, evil, wrongdoing is easy to see all around us, at home and abroad. We need to acknowledge it, and call it out, and fight the injustices and corruption it brings.

Hopefully we have thought too about the good news of Grace. We live with hope.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for the signs of hope, and the opportunities for fresh starts.
  • For our government. For the voices of hope and compassion to be heard.
  • For all the staff at the Diocesan office supporting churches and ministry.
