Weekly news for 10.4.22

Dear Friends

Details of our Holy Week and Easter services are all here for next week. It will be lovely to see you at one or more thing. We have tried to give a variety of times, styles, and opportunities.

Do remember to check in to our facebook page or the website regularly for updates.

A little word

Jesus said to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”                        John 11.25-26

As Jesus raises Lazarus from death, he gives a spoiler as to what will happen shortly with himself. As a sign of life beyond the grave he brings someone back from ‘the other side’. Jesus calls us to a new quality of life here, a freedom from fear, and an eternity in his presence. The hope we have, in him, carries us through anything.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for the hope and meaning we can find in all Jesus said and did.
  • For Bishop’s Pete & Sophie, with all their responsibility, for wisdom and inspiration.
  • For the Galloway family as they gather for Leroy’s funeral on Tuesday.

Electoral Roll revision and APCM

In advance of our annual meeting the Electoral Roll is being revised. This is the annual update where you can join if you are not already on it. The current roll is on display if you need to check.

If you wish to be added please complete an application form available at the welcome desk.

Please put the APCM date in your diaries. Sunday 8 May straight after the service.

We need to elect two Churchwardens and two deputy Churchwardens, these are annual elections. There are also a total of seven places on the PCC. (Four positions come up for a three year term each year, there are also three unfilled vacancies from last year).

Please be thinking and praying about who might stand for those positions. Nomination forms with all the details about who can stand are on the welcome desk.

Holy Week & Easter

Toddler Group

Congratulations to Esther who is starting a new job working with the Vine and St Timothy’s. This will leave a vacancy to join the team running the Toddler group on a Wednesday morning, starting after the Easter holidays.

Thank you to those who have volunteered to form a refreshment team rota. If you would like to help with the session itself, particularly getting to know those who come, talk to Pip.
