Weekly news for 17.4.22 – Happy Easter

Dear Friends

I do hope you will be able to join with us as we engage with the highs and lows of the Easter story once again.

Do remember to check in to our facebook page or the website regularly for updates.

A little word

‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ ‘Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting?’

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.                                                                                                                              1 Corinthians 15.54-56

We celebrate Easter as the victory of good over evil, love over hate, life over death. All that we thought powerful is overwhelmed by love as Jesus has the last word. He calls us in that Easter hope, to live in the light of the victory of love.

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for the good news of death defeated and the triumph of love.
  • For organisations working to help, and give dignity to, those fleeing persecution and conflict.
  • For our work with young people: CoGs, Toddler group, Youth Club.

Electoral Roll revision and APCM

In advance of our annual meeting the Electoral Roll is being revised. This is the annual update where you can join if you are not already on it. The current roll is on display if you need to check.

If you wish to be added please complete an application form available at the welcome desk.

Please put the APCM date in your diaries. Sunday 8 May straight after the service.

We need to elect two Churchwardens and two deputy Churchwardens, these are annual elections. There are also a total of seven places on the PCC. (Four positions come up for a three year term each year, there are also three unfilled vacancies from last year).

Please be thinking and praying about who might stand for those positions. Nomination forms with all the details about who can stand are on the welcome desk.
