Dear Friends
Quite a lot of news and updates this week.
Do please also check in with the facebook page www.facebook.com/ccpitsmoor/ and website www.pitsmoor.church/ during the week as things do change!
A little word
The heavens are telling the glory of God and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19.1
As I tramp around Parkwood Springs of a morning the light is always different. This week we have had sun, mist, pink snow-laden clouds, and grey rain. I sometimes wonder what it is like to live in one of those countries where the weather stays the same for weeks on end; what do they talk about?
I think the Psalmist is trying to say something about both order and variety and the fact that we all experience it. As they go on to talk about God’s law and commands, we too can interpret and experience them differently, but are all subject to them. Fear (awe or knowledge) of the Lord makes them sweeter than honey.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the way the natural world declares God’s glory.
- For Esther and others being licensed as lay ministers on Saturday
- For the places of conflict in the world, especially Burma/Myanmar.
Services
In-Church worship suspended for the foreseeable future
10.30am Morning Worship on Zoom
We are continuing our on-line services. This link will be the same every week.
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89030249289?pwd=dTdneVo3L0RreVdSYm15MGF2OHlwQT09
Meeting ID: 890 3024 9289 Passcode: 238289
Alternatively, for audio only, you can phone in to this number: 0203 901 7895, and follow the instructions.
We are experimenting with live-streaming the service on the Church’s facebook page. You can watch it that way, but you cannot interact as you can on Zoom. The livestream doesn’t show the gallery, only the person talking or the screen share. If you have any concerns about this talk to Pip and we can explain more fully.
If you know people for whom this might enable them to join us, please spread the news.
This week’s reading is Proverbs 8.1,22–31.
Sara asks: What do you think Wisdom is? When have you experienced real wisdom?
Esther’s licensing
The Celebration of Lay Ministries at which Esther is to be licensed is taking place on Saturday (6/2) at 11am. To join in you need to register here:
