Dear Friends
Do please also check in with the facebook page www.facebook.com/ccpitsmoor/ and website www.pitsmoor.church/ during the week as things do change!
A little word
There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 1 Cor 12.12 (NIRV)
We had a really good deanery meeting with +Pete this week. The challenge facing us is big but there is hope and encouragement. If you weren’t there you can watch it at Twinned Deanery Event – Ecclesfield & Hallam – YouTube
The real encouragement for me came with the 3 interviews of different churches where they are growing and trying different things. (jump to 39mins for this bit). They are all calling out and using everyone’s gifts. Grenoside and Wincobank are not unlike us, let me know what you think.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the local church – the place where we can demonstrate God’s love
- for the health care profession – as they cope with one uncertainty after another
- for places in the world where poverty means children miss education

Holy Communion in Church
Service details update
At the PCC recently, we reviewed where we are. Thank you for all those who have given us feedback.
At the moment it seems sensible to carry on in the morning as we are for a little longer. December is always different anyway. We are trying to have a variety of styles and, to put it bluntly, it is impossible to please everyone. I’m so pleased about the comments that value being together as more important than doing it my way. Worship is about giving and receiving after all.
Giving
Thank you to everyone who contributes financially to the work of the church.
If you are used to giving by the envelope scheme and would like to continue like this, please see Karen Rodgers who can give you a set of envelopes.
If you would like to know about how to give through the bank or use the Parish Giving Scheme speak to Karen (giftaid@pitmoor.church) or Bernadette (treasurer@pitsmoor.church) or Pip (vicar@pitsmoor.church).
Finally, a reminder that peoples financial circumstances change. If you have signed a gift-aid declaration, please let us know if you cease to be a taxpayer. Alternatively, if you are a taxpayer and have never signed one, please talk to us so that we can recover the tax paid on your gifts.
Donate to us with your on-line shopping
A reminder that with this link you can raise a small donation for us when you shop on-line at many places. If you sign up as a new user, we get a bonus once you have ‘earned’ £5

You could send a Christmas eCard to your friends and family this year. It’s free, easy to do, and saves on paper and postage! – https://www.tearfund.org/campaigns/christmas-ecards
Or ‘twin’ the essentials you have with the essentials others need:
If you are aware of the luxury of having rubbish collected from your doorstep:
If you love the safety and privacy of your loo, tap or fridge:
NOT the PCC! Monday 13th of December 7.30 to 8.30 in Church or the small lounge.
An hour for any of us in any kind of leadership, inside or outside Church, to pray for each other and the activity we are involved in. The aim is to support each other and pray for those diverse people, places and activities we love and serve.
