Weekly news for 12.4.20

Dear Friends

Here is the latest news, a bit of a bumper edition, but do please also check in with the facebook page www.facebook.com/ccpitsmoor/   and website  www.pitsmoor.church/  during the week.

Happy Easter

Here are some pictures from the church to show that although we might be in lockdown, all creation is bursting with life.

Services

Each evening in Holy Week we will have a short reflection at 7pm. Details are: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/413679968?pwd=R1ZMM2lZQUhBT09HRWx4MkZOTVRuZz09

Meeting ID: 413 679 968             Password: hwatccp

On Good Friday there will be an opportunity for reflection around the cross. We have put together something you can go through at your own pace at any point in the day. There should be a very obvious link on the front page of the website or use https://friday.pitsmoor.church/

If you’d like to join in on Sunday, you can do so by downloading Zoom on your phone, tablet or computer, and following this link   https://zoom.us/j/303159289?pwd=NXdpQkFJQWdLTlpIYTc2alZ6VUhqUT09

Alternatively, for audio only, you can phone in to this number: 0131 460 1196, and follow the instructions.

Meeting ID: 303 159 289  Password: 597076

We’ll be starting at 10.00am for a catch up followed by the service at 10.30am. The same link should work each week now.

For this week we are encouraging you to be creative. Will you over the next day or so make something that speaks to you of Easter. It could be a traditional Easter garden or you might like to draw or paint or sculpt or bake….  Take a photo and send it to vicar@pitsmoor.church so we can have a gallery on Sunday.

Keeping up

Pip & Sara are happy to receive calls or messages about people who are unwell or in need. All our contact details are on the website if you don’t already have them saved.

Archbishops’ call to pray

Some of us prayed and put a candle in our windows last Sunday evening. Bishop Pete has encouraged us to keep doing this each week as a symbol of our prayer and hope. Please join in if you can.

Foodbank & Volunteering offers

We have had to go to a referral system and are delivering to the most vulnerable. Thankfully we have now re-established food sourcing. Items that are particularly helpful are UHT milk and nappies up to size 2. If you are able to help with that or anything else, you can drop it on my doorstep. Thanks to those who already have.

If you would like to support foodbanks across Sheffield financially ….
S2 Foodbank are acting as bankers for a special appeal to help foodbanks during the Covid-19 crisis.  Donations will be split between the foodbanks in the network. To avoid unnecessary charges the most direct way of getting money to the network is to donate by bank transfer.
