    Dear friends,

Here is this week’s news. We continue our series in Philippians reflecting on Joyful Discipleship.

    A little word

continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you  Philippians 2: 12-13 (NIV)

This verse speaks to me of faith being a journey, not a static event. It also conveys something of the awe and wonder when we see God at work. It reminds me that God can be unpredictable, surprising and we might sometimes feel a little uncomfortable. And finally I’m reminded that this is true not just for me but for others too. Paul is speaking to a community not an individual. I wonder if I might see God at work this week in my own life and/or in the lives of those I encounter.

    Things to pray for

    • Give thanks for the presence of God we encounter, in ourselves and others.
    • For those being ordained Deacon and Priest this weekend at the Cathedral.
    • For those affected by the abuse of power of those in leadership.
