Dear friends,
As Pip has now retired we are in vacancy. It is a time of transition as we step into a new chapter for Christ Church.
Some things may look a little different as we adjust, but everyone is working very hard to pull together and keep things ticking over. Community is always vital, but during an interregnum period it is more important than ever.
Sunday services in the Church
10.30am Holy Communion
Readings: Luke 24.13-35
Refreshments are available after the service.
This Week’s Headlines
Douglas Clarke
Our dear friend Doug passed away recently. He is fondly remembered by many of us and we are thinking of June and the family in our prayers.
The funeral is next Tuesday 21st April – 1.30pm at Grenoside Crematorium.
We will also be hosting space here at Christ Church to reflect and to remember Doug and his connection to the church. Come anytime from 12.30 – 2pm for a cup of tea and to light a candle.
Annual Meeting preparations
The APCM is on 10th May at 11.30am after the morning service.
The Electoral Roll closes for revision this Sunday! If you are not on it yet, please complete a form and place it in the box. Both are at the back of church on the welcome desk as you come in the main door.
A full list of the current electoral roll is available on the noticeboard
Elections. There are lots of opportunities to serve on the PCC this year – especially with so many tasks to share out during the vacancy. We need to elect: 2x Churchwardens, 2x Deputy Churchwardens, 2x Deanery Synod reps, and up to 8 PCC members (this is the three for this year plus 5 unfilled from previous years). Some of our existing PCC members whose terms are ending will be glad to continue but there are still gaps to fill.
The nomination forms will be available from next Thursday 23rd – replacing the electoral roll forms at the back of church.
If you have any questions please email office@pitsmoor.church
