Reflect

Reflect is a contemplative space where all are welcome. No matter where you are in your journey.

At Reflect, we gather together once a week for an open, quiet and contemplative space. We are inspired by the teachings of Jesus but you don’t need to have any particular beliefs or religious affiliation to take part. We’re light on words and big on being inclusive.

Each week of the month has a different theme to help us to focus on a different aspect of our spirituality: song, story, table, growth and rest. You can find out more about each of those weeks below. Our service always starts at 7pm and lasts for around 45 minutes.

Week 1 – Song

We use songs from different spiritual traditions to help us to meditate on the teachings of Jesus. We often draw on music from the Taizé and Iona communities. There’s always a period for silent reflection as well.

Week 2 – Story

We take part in a guided meditation centered around a story (or sometimes a theme). The meditation will include some listening, some silence, and often reflective music as well.

Week 3 – Table

Communion is an important part of many people’s spirituality. Every third Sunday is a chance to take part in a quieter, simpler communion service. Everyone is welcome.

Week 4 – Growth

A meditation service with a focus on our journey towards a better inner life. We use different meditations such as contemplative prayer, loving kindness and mindfulness to help us.

Week 5 – Rest

In a busy world, it can be difficult to remember how to stop and just learn to be. There aren’t many fifth Sundays in the year, but when there are, we focus on resting well. Usually with some peaceful music.
