Weekly news for 2.3.25

Dear Friends,

We are now back in Church on Sundays!!

A little word

And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another 2 Corinthians 3.18 (NRSV)

This image is picked up from Moses spending time on the mountain with God, and the Transfiguration, when Jesus met Moses and Elijah. Spending time with God means we reflect his glory. Paul’s prayer for his friends is that it might be true for them, let it be so for us too. As Graham Kendrick puts it ‘As we gaze on Your kingly brightness, So our faces display Your likeness, Ever changing from glory to glory, Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story, Shine on me shine on me, Shine Jesus shine….’

Things to pray for

  • Give thanks for opportunities to shine for Jesus this week.
  • For Bishop Sophie as she moves to take up responsibilities in Coventry.
  • For the family and friends of Joyce Rason whose funeral is here on Monday (3/3) at 11am
