Dear Friends,
Here is the news for the coming week. A reminder that this week we are in Church for the Baptism service, use the main church entrance.
A little word
Blessed are they whose … delight is in the law of the Lord … Like a tree planted by streams of water bearing fruit in due season, with leaves that do not wither, whatever they do, it shall prosper. Psalm 1.1-3 (CW)
Are you a fan of trees? The Psalmist uses an image of a fruitful tree as a picture of those who walk with God. Trees need looking after for several generations if they are to be productive. They need the right setting and the right care. They are a lovely image of intergenerational nurture. If you plant a tree, it is expressing a hope in the future, of your children and grandchildren’s generations. That is why the image works so well. Whether it is your own family or thew wider church family let’s practice nurture, care and hope for the future.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for all those we are called to help nurture.
- For all those having a 1/2 term break.
- For the peace and security of our world.
