Dear Friends
We continue with our series running up to harvest
A little word
as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.” 2 Corinthians 8:15 (NIV)
Paul is speaking here about the collection being gathered amongst his missionary congregations for the persecuted church in Jerusalem. He is quoting from Exodus where the people of Israel were gathering the Manna in the wilderness. The point being that God has provided all we need, but we need to be generous and practice some redistribution, so that all have enough. I can be generous in a time of plenty knowing someone else will be generous when I am short. We as a rich nation in the world would do well to hear that message afresh.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for opportunities to be generous and for mutual support.
- Continue to pray for Sara & Bill and their family.
- For our PCC as they meet on Monday evening.

An update from Sara Goodman
Bill and Sara would be glad of your prayers as Sara has an op to remove a cancerous tumour in the next few weeks. The good news, it hasn’t spread, for which they are very grateful! Thank you!
