Here is a brief news update for this week.

A little word
Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus Philippians 2.4-5
These words come immediately before Paul’s hymn (?) about Jesus, and his humility. Our guiding principle is that it is not all about me, but others. And we know that as a society our own interests actually work best when we look after everyone else. We pray for our new government (and ourselves) in the light of these words.
Things to pray for
- Give thanks for the joy of building up and empowering others.
- For groups and activities as we welcome them back to our buildings.
- For the situation in East Africa, for effective food and medical aid.
Services
Holy Communion in Christ Church at 10am with CoGs group
This week we welcome our friends from St Peter’s as they join with us.
This week’s readings are: Luke 19.1-10

Sunday at 6pm.
Reflective services are recommencing at Advent.
We are hosting the Deanery Confirmation service with Bishop Pete on 6 Nov at 6pm. Please join us as Arnold, Ivalyn, Sophie and Jess are confirmed along with others from our twin deaneries.
10am on Thursday
Holy Communion will be in Christ Church this week (3/11). There is no Lunch Club.
Clock Change
Keeping up
The church building is back up and running. We are welcoming groups back to the Welcome Centre after ½ term.
If you are a keyholder, please check with Pip or Maureen before coming in. There have been some key and Alarm Code changes.
In church there are some compromises. Plastic chairs until we can order permanent replacements, and the organ clean will be a little while. We are just glad to be back!
