Weekly News (Sunday 20th June)

Dear Friends

Do please also check in with the facebook page www.facebook.com/ccpitsmoor/   and website  www.pitsmoor.church/  during the week as things do change!

A BIG thought!

‘But, as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives… In my body I will see my God! I will see Him for myself. Yes, I will see Him with my own eyes.’ (Job 19.23-26)

Bad people are punished and good people are rewarded. That’s right isn’t it? Yet, Job is suffering and he is absolutely sure he has done nothing bad in his life. He is confused and bitter – is God unjust? What is happening?

Yet, in the middle of it all, he comes out with this amazing statement of Faith.

In Job’s world, your Redeemer was your closest relative who would come and pay your debt, get you out of slavery, do whatever it took to rescue you from your difficulties. And somehow, Job knows that, despite all His difficulties with understanding God at the time, God Himself will do that for him.

There is an awful lot going on in the world at the moment. Sometimes we just don’t understand, but we do know.

Just prayer:

As our Church activities gradually begin again – it would be good to pray for them, for their leaders and the people attending.  Zoom 6 – 6.30 starting this Sunday.

APCM follow-up

On both the Church facebook page and the ‘& friends’ facebook group is a 5 min video from the diocese with some questions. If you could watch it and respond that would be really good. Email Pip or write it on a postcard.

CoGs leadership

Jane and Yvonne are both stepping back from leading CoGs. We want to record a huge thank-you for all that they have done over many years.

We will need a new team in place to lead our children’s work, ready to start in September. If you are interested in finding out more, please speak to Sara or Pip.
