Dear Friends
Do please also check in with the facebook page www.facebook.com/ccpitsmoor/ and website www.pitsmoor.church/ during the week as things do change!
A little word
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you. Romans 8.11
I wonder if Paul had that passage from Ezekiel in mind when he wrote this (them bones, them bones, them dry bones…) Ezekiel’s vision was of corpses that needed the breath of life. The emphasis on the body is that it is mortal, subject to death. But with God’s empowering Spirit within us we, like Jesus, can have life in all its fullness, now and forever. If each day is a gift from God, full of the potential of life, with access to the very presence of God; well, what a difference we can make in this world.

APCM follow-up
On both the Church facebook page and the ‘& friends’ facebook group is a 5 min video from the diocese with some questions. If you could watch it and respond that would be really good. Email Pip or write it on a postcard.
CoGs leadership
Jane and Yvonne are both stepping back from leading CoGs. We want to record a huge thank-you for all that they have done over many years.
We will need a new team in place to lead our children’s work, ready to start in September. If you are interested in finding out more, please speak to Sara or Pip.
Eco Church
15 minutes of peace sat in our Church Yard! This Saturday, 5th June, to Sunday 13th June 2021 is Churches Count on Nature week, focusing on the brilliant wildlife to be found in churchyards.
Locally, Ecclesall Church have all sorts: nature walks, guided prayers, bring your dog and a question-and-answer session about Science and Faith. More info at: South Yorkshire — Caring for God’s Acre (caringforgodsacre.org.uk)
FOR US: this is a great opportunity to begin finding out what wild- life there is in our Church yard (a wild bumble bee nest has already been sighted). So, please enjoy 10, 20, or 30 minutes looking and praying around the church yard this week and record:
- Who you are;
- What you saw – e.g., swift, ladybird, daisy…
- Where abouts in the Church yard it was
- When – include the day, month, and year.
and post it to Sara: sara@pitsmoor.church
A Starters guide with pictures to identify things is available at: https://www.caringforgodsacre.org.uk/resources/starterguide-2/
Thanks =)
